About SDS
With over four decades of experience, SDS Studio has built a celebrated legacy in wedding photography and filmmaking. Founded in 1983, the studio is renowned for capturing the soul of intimate destination weddings with authenticity, artistry, and emotional depth. At the heart of SDS Studio is Sabareesh Sankar, CEO and Creative Director, whose journey into visual storytelling is as heartfelt as the love stories he documents. A BTech graduate, Sabareesh began his career as a software engineer at Infosys. While working in the tech industry for three and a half years, he pursued wedding photography on the side—gradually discovering a passion that couldn’t be ignored. In 2017, he made the bold decision to leave the corporate world and take over SDS Studio full-time, bringing a fresh creative vision and a deeply personal storytelling approach inspired by his father and studio co-founder, Venugopal. At SDS Studio, no two weddings are ever treated the same. We believe every couple has a unique story, and we take the time to truly understand our clients—their personalities, quirks, excitement, and even their quiet, nervous moments. Through thoughtful conversations and attentive listening, we craft films and photo albums that are deeply personal, never templated. We’re committed to going beyond traditional documentation to create cinematic experiences that preserve the heart of each celebration—every candid smile, tender glance, and unscripted emotion. With each frame, we transform fleeting moments into timeless memories—rooted in emotion, elevated by artistry, and cherished for a lifetime.
