What can a dinner in Portland lead to? In this case, a grand wedding in Andhra. This story is of our latest couple Madhuri and Veeru, who’ve recently turned husband and wife! “Though we saw each other the first time at the dinner, we did not interact much. A year later, when I tagged along with my sister to Vegas, is when I met Veeru again” says Madhuri, sharing with us those precious memories of the time when their love was still a seed, yet to sprout.

We need to know the story of our clients. Interacting to understand how things unfolded is like an ice-breaker that dilutes the awkwardness. Leading to a comfortable space, where we don’t appear as people holding cameras, but feel more like friends sharing the same excitement and happiness.

“After Vegas, we did not meet for almost a year. My sister’s wedding was when I saw Veeru again” says Madhuri. “We had a great time in Andhra, and that’s when I told him that I was moving to San Francisco”.

They say, no one is sent to anyone by accident. What makes this story more interesting is the fact that Veeru was already living in San Francisco! We’re sure you can connect the dots from this point.

“Madhuri saying that she’s seeing someone was news. Knowing her from all these years, one thing for sure was that she’s not the kind who is impulsive. I was keen on meeting this person and that’s when she introduced me to Veeru for the first time at a social gathering” a close friend of Madhuri, giving us more insight into the personality of our bride.

“I could see Madhuri liked Veeru. The bond shared between the two was very evident. It felt nice to know Madhuri, our little woman had met a person who she loved dearly”.

These little details give us deeper understanding of our clients. We continued to have many more of such interactions with friends and family. What made this experience better was the grand hospitality we received. Everyone were friendly, affectionate, co-operative and most importantly very clear about their requirement. With all that was to be known, it was time for our cameras to start rolling. The house was now bustling with activities. From kids running around to family members ensuring everything was going according to plan, we could hear the sound of the wedding bells getting louder and louder.

Every Indian marriage is unique, and a Telugu wedding is a celebration on its own. As we peered through the lens of our cameras, we noticed how our modern couple gave into the ancient rituals with nothing but smiles and laughter. Watching Veeru and Madhuri take part in rituals such as Mangala Snanam, Jillakarra Bellam, Maadhuparakam or Akshitalu was exciting to shoot, and it felt truly heart-warming.
